SEEM Collaborative's Program for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Students is looking for a consulting audiologist/speech language pathologist. 

 

The preferred candidate will have the following qualifications:

 

  1. Background in speech-language pathology, audiology, or deaf education with specialization in the habilitation of deaf and hard of hearing children ages preschool through elementary, including hearing technology (hearing aids, cochlear implants, HAT systems). 
  2. Specific knowledge of speech acoustics and how this directly impacts development of speech and language in children with hearing loss. 
  3. Knowledge of/experience with informal assessment and formal evaluation of functional listening skills and speech skills. Familiarity with language assessment. 
  4. Knowledge/experience creating goals and objectives based on assessment, and experience providing treatment. 
  5. Familiarity with Signing Exact English.
  6. Experience working with deaf educators to provide guidance on incorporating listening, speech, and language objectives into the classroom. 
  7. Clinical review of referrals to the DHOH program. 
  8. Parent counseling.

 

Employment is contingent upon completion of background check.  SAFIS fingerprint and CORI screening.
